Hopkins Public Schools offers students excellence in every sense of the word. Our program is academically rigorous and filled with choice at every grade level. We prepare students for post-secondary life by blending real-world learning with traditional classroom experiences.

Hopkins is committed to personalized learning. What this means is Hopkins teachers know their students and their families. They meet learners where they are at, tap into their strengths and encourage them to reach beyond their potential. All students belong and have a place in our schools.

Hopkins Highlights:

  • Challenge programming (gifted and talented) starts in kindergarten and is embedded into the entire elementary program.
  • Our District is recognized for its efforts with STEM (Science, Technology Engineering and Math) by the Minnesota High Tech Association.
  • Full Chinese immersion is available (K-6). Starting in 2014-2015, Chinese immersion will expand to the Junior High.  
  • Advanced Spanish "Juntos" at North Junior High. Junior High Spanish Immersion starting in 2013-2014. 
  • Real-world learning. An abundance of internships, mentorships and independent studies enrich traditional classroom learning. 
  • One of the most extensive AP (Advanced Placement) programs in the state.
  • The first district in Minnesota to make Financial Literacy a graduate requirement.

Kindergarten Options

Upcoming Kindergarten Information Nights at the elementary schools are the perfect time to ask questions, gather more information about choices, and to meet other parents who will attend your child's school. These meetings are being held throughout the month of November and are designed for parents of children entering kindergarten in the fall, but are open to any family wanting to learn more about the schools.
